Andrew Griffith MP, Tim Lloyd - Henfield By Election Candidate and Josh Potts - District Councillor met with a large group of Henfield residents today to hear their concerns about the proposed development of the Sandgate Nursery site.
Residents are concerned that the site has been put forward in the Horsham District Council Local Plan, backed by the Greens and Lib Dems, but the site was not included in the Neighbourhood Plan drawn up by the Parish Council and approved by residents in a public vote.
Summing up the general feeling, one resident has said 'I’ve objected to the application each time it has been submitted. Wrong place for more houses and wrong type of houses applied for, not what the village needs. Henfield needs more small properties which could be starter homes or downsize for older folk which in turn would free up larger existing properties for families.'
