Arundel & South Downs parliamentary constituency covers some of the most glorious countryside in England, consisting of fine historic towns and villages, rolling downs and fertile valleys. The people who live here care passionately about their localities and the environment in which they live. They are conscious of their inheritance but at the same time they welcome changes that enhance the quality of life for present and future generations. They are forward looking but with values that have been built up over the centuries.
Conservatives have served this part of England well over many years. With a Conservative Member of Parliament, a Conservative County Council and four Conservative District Councils covering the area, the citizens of Arundel & South Downs know their interests are well cared for by their elected representatives, and they want to keep it that way.
Arundel & South Downs Conservative Association (ASDCA) exists to ensure the continuity of Conservative representation at all levels within the constituency area. Its prime function is to select and promote Conservative candidates and to ensure their election. It also supports the Conservative Party nationally by providing assistance to other constituency associations at election times and by raising funds for the benefit of The Party as a whole.
ASDCA consists of 21 Branches covering the whole constituency area. Each branch has electioneering and fundraising functions, ensuring that the Conservative Party has an active presence in every corner of the constituency.
ASDCA is a voluntary organisation and, apart from a small permanent headquarters, relies on volunteers to fulfil all of its various functions. It is at its busiest at election times, but throughout the year it is active in holding fund raising events and other functions to spread the Conservative message.
ASDCA always welcomes new members who share its values. Members are free to choose their level of involvement. Whatever this might be, they can rest assured that this will be valued both locally and nationally.
